The aim is to work with you through the difficulty. It can be finding new ways of coping, increasing self-esteem, linking the past with the present, understanding relationship issues. I might challenge your preconceived ideas, on occasion provide relevant information or explore different ways of thinking. The counselling relationship is a professional relationship where respect and trust is paramount and together we will agree on goals to be worked towards. I endeavour to explore alongside you where you are now, where you want to be and help you find a way to get there.

Common Questions
Explore My Frequently Asked Questions
What is integrative counselling and psychotherapy?
Integrative counselling combines different therapeutic approaches and techniques to suit your individual needs. My work is grounded in person-centred principles, with a strong focus on building a safe, trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship.
What can counselling help me with?
Counselling can support you with a wide range of difficulties, including low self-esteem, relationship problems, challenging past experiences, coping with difficult emotions and understanding how previous experiences may be affecting your life today.
What can I expect from counselling sessions?
Sessions provide a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space where we can explore what is happening in your life. We will work together to understand your concerns, identify your goals and consider ways of creating positive change.
Will I be involved in deciding how therapy progresses?
Yes. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you will be actively involved in deciding what you would like to work towards. Nothing is set in stone, and our approach can develop as your needs and circumstances change.
Do you have experience working with young people?
Yes. I have worked as a counsellor within a secondary school and have also supported disadvantaged young people who were homeless or at risk of homelessness through a Leeds-based charity. These roles have given me valuable experience in supporting adolescents and understanding the importance of stability, trust and a safe environment.
