About Me
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist guided by relational framework based on the person-centered core principles.
Simply put, this means that I believe in the importance of the personal relationships in our lives, and I strive to provide a safe and trusting environment where you can explore any issues or difficulties you might have without feeling judged. As an integrative therapist I am familiar with a variety of approaches and can draw on multitude of tools and techniques.
What I Offer
The aim is to work with you through the difficulty.
It can be finding new ways of coping, increasing self-esteem, linking the past with the present, understanding relationship issues. I might challenge your preconceived ideas, on occasion provide relevant information or explore different ways of thinking. The counselling relationship is a professional relationship where respect and trust is paramount and together we will agree on goals to be worked towards. I endeavour to explore alongside you where you are now, where you want to be and help you find a way to get there.
As a client you are actively involved in decision-making and it is a collaboration between us on how to best achieve your goals. By experiencing a non-judgmental and open environment, you will build on your existing strengths to overcome your current issue. Nothing is set in stone and through work and commitment change can happen.
Currently, I am focusing on my private practice work, through which I can support an incredibly wide variety of people. I love the unique nature of each case – getting to know each client and their individual circumstance. I feel privileged every time someone chooses to work with me and a great responsibility to do my best in sharing this time together.
As well as running my private practice, I have worked as a school counsellor in secondary school setting. I found this to be a very challenging yet rewarding role – working with adolescents is my passion and even if it is difficult at times, the benefits are far greater.
I have worked with disadvantaged young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through a Leeds charity. This was a challenging role through which I have learnt many lessons about the importance of stability, safe environment and trusting relationship.
